Our approach

We take charge of the response so that the business can keep trading. That is the whole of it. Everything below explains how.

We started in insurance claims

Our background is in handling insurance claims for policyholders, and that work still sits at the centre of what we do. It taught us how claims are actually assessed, what a loss adjuster is looking for, and where value is won and lost in the months after an incident.

[AWAITING: years in field] [AWAITING: professional qualifications and bodies]

A claim is only part of the answer

A serious loss creates problems that no policy covers. Premises become unusable. Contracts fall due. Lenders ask questions. Key staff need to know whether they still have jobs. A business that recovers only its insured losses can still fail.

So we work on the whole recovery, not just the claim: continuity of trading, cash, contracts, premises, people, and the sequence in which each needs attention.

We work alongside you and your directors

We are not a replacement for your management team, and we do not take the business out of your hands. We join it for as long as the recovery lasts, absorbing the work that would otherwise consume your directors' attention, and reporting back in terms you can act on.

In practice that means one point of contact for the response, and a board that can go back to running the company.

The question of who pays

After a loss, the first instinct is to look at the insurance policy. That is the right place to start and rarely the end of it. Funds can also come from a landlord, a supplier, a contractor, a third party whose liability the investigation establishes, or a contractual obligation nobody has yet read closely.

Establishing who pays — and pursuing each source in the right order — is a large part of what we are for.

Blue skies

A crisis forces decisions that a business might otherwise defer for years. Premises get reconsidered. Product lines get examined. Processes that survived only through habit come up for review.

We do not pretend a disaster is an opportunity. We do make sure that when the business is rebuilt, it is rebuilt deliberately rather than restored by default.

Our fees

Our fees can often be met under your own insurance policy. We will look at your cover early and tell you plainly whether that applies to you, before you commit to anything.
